Dakarai Akil is a Los Angeles based collage artist, painter and illustrator hailing from Cleveland, Ohio.
Primarily working in the world of collage, Dakarai describes his artworks as “small windows into the worlds of black surrealism & afrofuturism”. Sport, music and America are constant themes running through his work. When creating these collages Dakarai focuses on colour, shape and composition to tell a story or to give the viewer a unique feeling.
Dakarai has self-published three art books, participated in countless group and solo exhibits over the span of 10 years and has had work published in publications such as The New York Times, Wired Magazine and Readers Digest.
