We're delighted to see our latest collaboration with Tesco appear on the supermarket's shelves. Under the guidance of design agency Coley Porter Bell, Tom Haugomat created five iconic tea destination illustrations for the the re-launched range. The images beautifully capture the delicate craft of the teas, bringing the provenance of each one to life through evocative, transportive imagery.

Coley Porter Bell wanted the illustrations to feel "vibrant and romantic". Transporting the consumer to a variety of locations around the world highlighting each tea’s provenance using storytelling in a beautifully provocative scene. To achieve this they insisted that each image has a strong sense of composition and a cinematic quality, whilst also incorporating a subtle texture and imperfections to the colours and edges to convey the "handmade, authentic quality" of the product. All of this made Tom the natural choice for the project.

Each illustration was also required to have an element which quickly captures the blend story. These elements needed to be extractable so that they can break free of the window shape on the front of pack but also be isolated and placed on other sides to bring interest around the pack.

Fun fact: Did you know that Earl Grey tea is named after Charles Grey, British Prime Minister from 1830 - 1834?

The range is on sale now in your local Tesco. A big thank you to the team at Coley Porter Bell for this wonderful project and excellent art director.
Any one for a cuppa?
